I’ve been working with both aquarelle and acrylic painting. I chose to paint hands holding apples in a maximalistic way. At the start was I drawing hands, and hands holding apples, and then I started making studies of hands holding apples. The two paintings below are the ones I chose to work more on, and they are my final results.
In this aquarelle painting I was using Itten’s warm/cold contrast to give the hand form and shadow. The hand is not in natural colors but you can clearly see what I’ve been painting. Sines there is so much color in this painting it has a maximalistic expression.
In this acrylic painting I also used Itten’s warm/cold contrast to give the hand form, but not as clearly as in the painting above. The painting has a maximalistic expression because of the repeating of the apples, and all of the colours.
